Welcome Back to our Martin Street students and their families!  A special welcome to those new families who have recently moved into the area, as well as the new families in Grade 2 French Immersion, Junior Kindergarten, and our new Communication Class. We hope you had an enjoyable and restful summer and are feeling ready for the start of another year.  We are incredibly excited to begin our 3rd year in our new building! This promises to be a year filled with amazing opportunities for all of our students as we strive to find ways that we can be even better than we have before!  We embark on this journey with a pledge to you, our students and parents, that this will be a year of engaging, meaningful and rigorous work in our classrooms, combined with special events and a plethora of extracurricular clubs and activities, performing arts groups, and athletic teams, certain to encourage our Martin Street children to be involved and stay connected!

During the 2019-20 school year we will continue to build upon and refine our foundation of Collective Commitments, Core Values, honored traditions, and continued excellence in education. Soon you will be hearing about many opportunities to visit our school, beginning with our School Council Fall Fair on Saturday, September 21. We extend a special, year-long invitation to our families to join us at school activities and events whenever possible.  We value your involvement and support in your child’s education!  Your active participation is key to the success of your children in their elementary school years.

Our administration team consists of Dan Albrecht, Principal and Jacqueline Febers, Vice Principal. Our office doors are always open and we encourage communication between home and school as the most effective way to provide your child with the confidence to be a successful Martin Street student. On this website, you will find a link to our staff list.
We welcome you to Martin Street and to our wonderful learning community. Here’s to an AWESOME new school year as we work together to make our school a great place to work and learn each day!

Fall Fair: Our School Council is working hard in preparation for our annual Fall Fair on Saturday September 21. Hope to see you there! If you are willing to volunteer in any capacity please contact our School Council Co-Chair Louise Thewlis at

Pizza, Milk, and Popcorn: Shortly you will be receiving information about how to order.

Breakfast Club: Once again Martin Street will be providing a Breakfast Programme on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Thank you to all the parents, students, and staff who volunteer to distribute the food. And a huge thank you to Mrs. Katherine Jensen for once again coordinating this most valuable programme!

Class Placements: Thank you for your patience as we implement a notification system and work through the glitches. Please know that it is inevitable that there will be split classes. Families will be receiving an email explaining the rationale for split classes. Please do not call or email requesting a class change. At this time we will honor the hard work of our staff in placing students in the class that will best meet their needs.
